NADOI Vocational Training Program

NADOI Vocational Training Program

A unique two-part curriculum designed to provide ambitious trainers with both foundational knowledge and hands-on skills needed for modern, humane, and effective dog training. Complete both parts to earn a certificate endorsed by NADOI.

NADOI Vocational Training (VT)

The National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors (NADOI) is excited to announce the launch of a new vocational training program designed to elevate the standards of dog training education. This comprehensive program is divided into two key parts:

Foundations of Knowledge & Practical Skills

Participants who complete both parts will receive a certificate of completion endorsed by NADOI. Recognizing the current gap in foundational education guidelines for mentorships, apprenticeship programs, and general training knowledge, this curriculum aims to create well-rounded trainers proficient in both theory and application.

The first part of the program delves into ethology, learning theories, and training principles, while the second part emphasizes hands-on handling skills, allowing participants to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. The curriculum serves as a guide for instructors, offering a suggested reference list but also allowing flexibility for lead instructors to incorporate their preferred materials. With a rich history spanning over 59 years, NADOI is a respected authority in the field, and this new program underscores its commitment to fostering excellence in dog obedience instruction.
